Jay Shafer's latest tiny house designs have been featured on HGTV's Design Star. The three final contestants are each assigned a home and they're in charge of the interior design.

Each of them soon find out that it's a 99 square foot tiny house. They're three of Tumbleweed Tiny Houses' latest designs called the Box Bungalows.

How do you think the contestants will react to these small spaces?

Will they be surprised, shocked or completely open to the lifestyle of simplicity? How would living in less than 200 square feet change your life? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Tiny House Movement Continues to Thrive

HGTV's Design Star attracts an audience of more than three million people as Jay Shafer's Tumbleweed House Company continues to make mainstream news headlines, talk shows and now a television show.

He has been featured in Oprah, the New York Times, CNN, Fox Business News and a variety of other media channels. There's a growing interest for small spaces and I believe it attracts all ages. Tiny houses can give...

  • Young people an opportunity to get ahead financially or go to college
  • Young couples a way to save up for their future
  • Divorcee's a way to reestablish themselves
  • Retirees to enjoy less maintenance and a more abundant retirement
  • Small business, parks and governments a way to make rental income
  • Adults to retire early or make a career change
  • Artists, musicians and freelancers a unique backyard workspace
  • Families a tiny backyard guest house or hangout

These backyard structures, sheds, bungalows, cottages, tiny houses, whatever you want to call these unique spaces- they are a part of a growing trend after a devastating real estate crash.

What can a simple lifestyle, or maybe even a tiny house, do for you?

If you are open to the idea of simplifying your life why would you do it? People have used simple lifestyles to do all kinds of things. What could you see yourself doing it for?

  • To get through college
  • To retire
  • To build your own business
  • To travel
  • To pursue your passion
  • To gain freedom
  • To spend time with family & friends
  • To take care of a loved one in need
  • To reduce your carbon footprint
